I run a variety of gift basket delivery services in the Pacific Northwest, and have been rapidly expanding out all over the country. It is just simply amazing the variety of stuff that people will want to buy from gift basket services. There are, of course, all of the standard things. Dead and dried flowers are sent along with sentiments that reflect a good bit less light hearted affection than most romantic notes will have. We send gift basket deliveries out to goth kids mostly, with gloomy pictures of pale, broken-hearted youngsters pining away in melancholy longing for each other. In addition, we have candies shaped like hearts with knives through them, tear drops, and other such untraditional tokens of romantic affection. I have found that the key to successful gift basket services is specialization, and we strive to do just that. After all, there is no accounting for taste.
