I run a variety of gift basket delivery services in the Pacific Northwest, and have been rapidly expanding out all over the country. It is just simply amazing the variety of stuff that people will want to buy from gift basket services. There are, of course, all of the standard things. One of my gift basket services specializes in fine wines. It does quite well, as there is perhaps no more classic or elegant a gift. Even chocolate may, I think, one day go out of style, but it seems very unlikely that wine ever will. It really never has before. My gift basket service specializing in candies, meats and cheeses, does an even brisker business. Some of my regular food clients have been using my gift basket services twice a month or even more for several years now. Either they have relatives living in places where food is hard to come by, or the novelty of receiving a gift basket delivery filled with tasty treats is one that never wears off. Whatever the reason, this is a tremendously popular service.

And of course, gift basket services that emphasize flowers, love notes, and other tokens of romantic affection are as popular as love itself. I swear, people with the most beautiful flowers growing right down the street from them will still go completely wild to get the same sort of flower sent to them in the mail by someone who they love. But then again, the romantic side of gift basket services is where it all starts to go a bit odd. You see, we also specialize in romantic niche markets, and here it can get strange enough to be uncomfortable to talk about. I will just tell you a few of the details.

One of our gift basket services is called dead flowers, and it specializes in just that. Dead and dried flowers are sent along with sentiments that reflect a good bit less light hearted affection than most romantic notes will have. We send gift basket deliveries out to goth kids mostly, with gloomy pictures of pale, broken-hearted youngsters pining away in melancholy longing for each other. In addition, we have candies shaped like hearts with knives through them, tear drops, and other such untraditional tokens of romantic affection. I have found that the key to successful gift basket services is specialization, and we strive to do just that. After all, there is no accounting for taste.
